SanDisk Sansa m250 2 GB MP3 Player (Black)

Customer Reviews

Just Okay

I bought this MP3 player within the last 3 weeks. It was great the first week, I enjoyed the fact it wasn't too big or bulky, and was easy to use. However, after that first week I noticed it often would not power up when I tried to turn it on. And now it has begun to shut itself off at random. I never used it excessively, less than an hour at a time, not every day certainly. No idea why it has suddenly gone bad.

Sansa M250 MP3 Player

Nice Product - the only 2 things I would say could be improved are 1. The random mode seems to play a lot of the same songs over and over, I have about 200 songs on the player and 30-40 of them are the ones it plays everytime. 2. The armband was pretty cheap, I had an old sandisk player and I am using the armband from it as it is twice as thick as the one tat came with this But overall I am very pleased with this player and expect to use it for a long time and would recommend it to someone looking for an mp3 player

Not as reliable as my old m230

I had a Sansa m230 up until recently. The thing was great, exactly what I wanted in an MP3 player - long battery life, drag & drop music loading, and quality playback. I had it for three years or so, then I dropped it one too many times and the display stopped working. I decided that since the m230 was so great and since the m250 had all the same features, more capacity, and was now less than what I paid for the m230 when I got it, getting an m250 was a no brainer. I'm sorry to say that this product is just not good. Even with the latest firmware, it locks up regularly, the randomizer plays the same song multiple times in a row, and the sound quality is worse than the m230s was. This player is a textbook case for a product taking a serious step backwards. So if you can find an m230 and don't need a lot of capacity, I could not recommend that player more. As for the m250, I have to advise you to stay away.

Great... but I had to work really hard on it...

I never own an MP3 and finally decided to try one so I thought I'll get this one to try out since the price is awesome :). May be I'm inexperience or mis-understanding how it works, but I expected it to work like a memory stick (plug in then drag and drop)... I sure have the problem here. My laptop does not show this device in my Window XP -window explorer(?), I can't find it anywhere; uh oh... so I open it in my window media and do the copy to device(I have version 9.0)... I can't find it either. I think this is useless on my laptop. However, I took it to work and plug it into my desktop... hmmmm... can't find it in window explorer either (?). I was so confused and was going to cry, but hey one more try; I opened up the window media and try to copy to device again... Halleluiah, it saids SansaM250! I had to manually create artist and Album folders then copy each album to each folder created... Darn it, I had to have 2 cups of coffee this morning (I'm only a weekend drinker). Wait, its not over yet...How does this thing work? It just kept playing the first song from each album from each artist and if I hit the >>, it toggle back and forth from one artist and album to the next one(ahhhh...)hmmm... may be it didn't recognized my folders(?); I really can't listen to classical then the next song is rock and roll and then the one after that is hip-hop then country then opera ??? I can only listen to one gern at a time. Anyhoo, it was my bad (first time inexperience :))I swear the up/down button (>ll and Repeat/AB) didn't work! (only the side to side ones), I couldn't scroll to artist/album. I started to get kinda mad now so I pushed every freakin button... well, somehow the up/down button decided to work and I can move to my artist/album now. Well, now all is well (Haaaaa...) but I still can't down load anything from my lab top because it seems that this device does not exist. I guess I can only download from my work desk top and only through window media (weird), well then I will have to knock off some stars on this. I really didn't expect it to be such hard work like this. Now that it works, I'm ok with it. I guess I didn't pay much for this, but sure I had such big headache over it. I guess I will have to go to bed early tonight then. Good luck and have fun with it. Tata everyone :)

Just what I needed

When I bought this player I didn't have a clue how to work one. I plugged it into my computer opened up Window Media and dragged and dropped the songs I wanted into the sync window and that was it! Couldn't be any easier than that. I haven't installed the software that came with it yet. I was amazed at the clarity of the sound through the head phones. There was some static in between songs but not bad. The radio picked up all of the stations in my area with no problem. The only complaint I do have is the UBS cable it too short. My tower sits under my computer desk and I have to bend under my desk to view the LCD screen on the player. Otherwise, it's a great little player for the price. I love it so far.
