Love It!
I bought this product because I wanted a quality MP3 player that was also convenient and compact. After reading other reviews from different sites, I was sold. I bought two, one for my husband and another for my 17 year old son. They both absolutely love it.Great mp3 player, except one thing
This is a great Mp3 player, with expandable memory, folder browsing, no software needs to be installed for copying mp3s or video, great sound quality, customizable equalizer, nice video playback divx, mpeg, radio, and microphone. I-pod is not even close to it. You stuck on stupid Itunes with IPOD. and you have to tag all your mp3's, even if you tag them you have bunch of unorganized mp3's floating around. But with Zen, you don't have to tag any mp3. You can just search between folders and you can see the file names and folders just like your pc or mac. and when you copy your mp3's you can copy back to you PC. Music sharing with friends is just that easy. you don't need to install softwares, it's works like any flash memory. But there is only one thing needs to be improved. Folder browsing is only available for SD memory and if you want to search new music or video while listening music, music just stops. Also on SD mode, you can't create playlist. These are annoying. if creative can fix that with their new firmware upgrade, it will be perfect. But it is still better than Ipod, at least now I can upload my new musics without tagging or lunching Itunes or any other mp3 softwares. Just get 2gb version and buy yourself a 16gb or 32gb SD or SDHC memory and you are all set.Worked great for 32 days, then DIED!!
We purchased this product and were very excited for the first 32 days. It was cared for gently and the just died! It totally stopped working and would not come on nor would it be recognized by the computer! We are 2 days past our return date, so we are very upset and disgusted!!!Zen 2 GB
Creative made a Media player with lots of potential, BUT. It locks up to easy :o( and it is overly complicated to load media into, and finding the media to play back is a bit hard to start :o( The play back quality is good with a good volume. You don't have to crank it to the top setting to hear it. The video looks like it may be good, but none of my AVI's play back on it. JPG's photos look good on it. I put and eight gigabyte SD expansion card in it and it holds a few days of music, that's cool. It also has a nice way to index through the listings of music, that's nice... Over all it's nice, but it could have better software to load, select, and playback media...Good player but.... No good support
Well I bought this player because it had really good reviews and it seemed like the best player in it's price range... In fact I think it is a really good player, the feel is pretty smooth. The texture doesn't feel cheap at all, it doesn't feel light when held in the hand. The buttons, on the other hand do feel kind of wacky (cheap). The navigation within the player is really easy, like all other PMP's you don't need any instructions and you can start using it right away. As soon as I put some music in the player it populated the albums, artist and all other categories for navigation. The pictures look really good and bright, I didn't try the slide show setting, but too bad you can't see the pictures on your tv (in case you want to show off!!) I tried putting some MP4 videos (iPod format) and the player didn't recognize them, I'll try to play some AVI's to see how it performs. THE BAD: First of all, when I first plugged it into my PC I was expecting a "Charging" or "Initial Charge" message, but unfortunately no message was displayed and the player didn't response to anything I would do. I was trying to turn it on but nothing happened, I almost freaked out.... After some time (30-40 minutes) it went on and then the other issue came up. Getting my computer to recognize the device was not an easy task, and not only for me (according to some googling). My computer kept saying there was a problem with the device and that it could not be recognized, I installed the software that comes in the CD, but it was worthless. Tried disconnecting and connecting, updating drivers and nothing seemed to work.. I kind of got frustrated (and don't think I'm a computer newbie!), but then I searched the web and found that it would work if you uninstalled all the ZEN apps and then connect the device. Thankfully it did work after I did this, but I think this is a MAJOR disappointment, we shouldn't go through all that nonsense research just to transfer our music into the PMP. Oh, by the way, checking the creative website for support was far more than useless!!! Overall I consider it a good purchase for it's price range, as the matter of fact after all the trouble I went through I still like it and I'm satisfied with it. I only give it 4 stars for all the trouble on connecting the device, plus bad tech support and no documentation for that issue, which seems pretty common. Hope it helps,Keyword : creative+mp3
