Great little player, iffy interface.
My U2's battery died after almost two years (two-three hours per day usage). Since you can't replace the battery--I knew that going in--I bought a replacement. I don't know if I'll ever get used to the touch sensitive controls. My advice is, if you aren't used to them, start out gingerly or the device will run away from you. I didn't understand that "press" means put your finger in the general neighborhood of the "button" for a nanosecond. I ended up stuck in Korean, unable to find my way out because, duh, the menus were in Korean. And the instructions for reverting to factory settings given in the manual don't work. But now that I'm back in English, I'm sure I will love this device as much as I did my U2.Awesome
This was the first MP3 player I ever purchased. Being a novice I relied upon a few audiophile websites' reviews leading to this selection. It proved to be both an exasperating and exhilerating unit. First the negatives. The printed manual included was the sparsest I ever encountered for a product. It did come with a CD manual which was a bit more detailed. However, possibly because I am new at this, it was confusing to set up resulting in a few head scratching moments. Although Cowon's website did provide databases and FAQs certain files were not available until you registered with their site and wait for the E-Mail providing a password. Make sure you register on Cowon's American website or you'll wait forever for a password! Somehow I muddled through the set up. Now for the positives. It was everything the reviews said it was. For it's size the Cowon I7 can hold a staggering amount of picture, music, etc. files in every format I had or can think of. Sound quality was impressive with enough tweeking available to satisfy everyone. Just use better headphones than the disappointing earbuds provided. Controls were maddenly sensitive with even the slightest of touches sending you careening through various menus and files. However I did manage to quickly adjust. All in all I can recommend the Cowon I7. Experienced people will love it immediately and novices such as myself with a little patience will also.Awesome!
This product is perhaps the best MP3 player ever! The sound quality is amazing, and the capabilities rock. It has an FM radio to which you can record songs as they are playing if you wish to do so. You can record yourself as well. In addition, I find that the scroll bar is phenomenal. Getting to the menu screen is simple, raising the volume is simple and turning it on and off is a snap. There are three ways to charge the battery back up as well. It hooks to your computer through a USB port, in which you can download new songs, but it is still charging. There's a wall outlet, and you can get a car charger. All in all, I'd give this player a 9 out of 10. The player smudges easily, which is perhaps the only annoying thing and that is easily cleaned anyway.Great player
This is a great product. It has very nice features, easy to use, easy to transfer files. I love that it plays flac files! The only thing I don't like about this player is that it is far too easy to accidentally record. The button should be moved or more difficult to activate. I don't get 60 hours of use from it, but I can use it for about 3 or 4 days without recharging the battery. I also wish the battery was user replaceable.great sound poor interface
The quality of the sound is very good, the user interface is not as intuitive and easy to use as it should be. It doesn't have instructions about how to operate the controls and is not user friendly, after the first really bad impression you noticed the really good quality of the reproducction and became more familiar with the controls.Keyword : cowon
