MEIZU MP4 Portable Video & Music Player 4GB (Black)

Customer Reviews

Love my Meizu!

I've had my Meizu for 4 months now - no problems. The sound is fantastic and I love that I don't have to convert my MP3 files to anything to listen. Everything is as simple as drag and drop! I uploaded a bunch of photo albums, MP3s, and recently uploaded an MP3 Audio book and have had no problems. In all this time I have only uploaded one video, which worked fine. The large screen is crystal clear and brightly colored. The interface takes some getting used to - it's not the most intuitive set up, but the instruction manual does help and with practice you pick it up pretty quickly.

High Value MP3 Player!

I bought the Meizu about a month ago or so and I am highly pleased with it. The sound it produced is superb! I tend to like to "immerse" myself in my music and this player can create that effect at a fraction of its available volume. This player has a very flexible sound effect mode which allows you to tailor the sound to your preference. I usually am listening while riding on a commuter train (noisy) and this player easily drowns out the noise of the train. This player can play music, videos and display pics. The player has a drag and drop capability that makes file transfer super easy. Adding music to your player is easy even for the novice. If you are adding videos, you'll need to convert them to a format the Meizu can read. You will receive software to do the conversion, but it takes a little toying around with to figure out how to make it work right. It took me a couple of tries to get it right. But once you get it, the videos are just as easy to transfer onto the player and they look really good. As for the player's functionality, the menus are very intuitive to use and are well laid out. The display is bright and easy to read---even in bright sunlight. The Meizu has a couple of games and an alarm clock too I believe. I haven't used these features, but it's nice to know I have a couple of extras for the price. I must agree with other reviewers who said the touch menu pad can be tricky to use. It's ultra sensitive---which is actually a good thing, but it will take some getting used to. When I first got the player, I had a really hard time working with it. Don't worry though---it's a learning curve and you will get better at working with it very quickly. Now that I've learned the tricks, I really appreciate the touch menu pad. Battery life overall is very good. Other reviewers have said it would be nice to have a plug in charger, but the USB charger works fine if you use the computer daily anyway. The player charges fairly quickly. My player is charging right now as I write this review. All things said, you'll have a hard time finding a player that offers more value for your money. I'm an extremely value-conscious consumer (not cheap) and I think this player is a solid value for someone who wants a great player without laying down hundreds of dollars. The 4GB capacity isn't as big as the newest players on the market, but this again is not a big deal depending on how you use the player. My 4GB is more than enough space for me to store what I'm listening to right now on the player. And since I use the computer daily, it's no big deal for me to swap albums on-and-off when I am int the mood for something new. If you are a die-hard IPOD fan, then you should get an IPOD. But if you are looking for solid performance at a reaonable price, the Meizu is your player!

WOULD NOT BUY AGAIN

MY DAUGHTER HAS ONE OF THESE SO I BOUGHT MY SON ONE. IT LOCKED UP AFTER JUST MINUTES AFTER USING. WE RETURNED IT AND ORDERED ANOTHER ONE FROM A DIFFERENT STORE. IT DID THE SAME THING. IT IS NOT LOCKING UP BECAUSE WE DO NOT KNOW HOW TO USE BECAUSE IT IS THE SAME THING MY DAUGHTER HAS (WHICH IS STILL WORKING OK).

surprised and happy

I've been using this item for 6 months and have been thrilled with it. Some people complained about the controls - they can be a little iffy at first but I've gotten very used to them. I've gone through a few Creative players and one Sansa, and all died after a few months. I have much preferred this one. Light, great looking, and great sound once I disabled all of the strange audio processing features it comes with. I've dropped it a few times with no ill effects. Well worth the money.

This is a GREAT MP3/MP4 player

I have had this unit for one week now... it plays audio files with great sound and depth. The included earphones have great frequency response also. (They don't fit my ears very well so I am using Creative EP-630 earbuds instead.) I updated this unit to the latest firmware and have no complaints whatsoever! The screen has great clarity and the brightness level is adjustable also. There are a lot of great features to this player, and is a lot less expensive than the Nano or the Sansa units. My advice is to get one today.
