A good music player
PRO- -Plays FLAC and ogg -Sounds good and the EQ works well -Drag and drop -Easy to skin if that's your thing CON- -Sometimes when it switches tracks there is a sound. It does not happen frequently (couple times a day) and firmware may fix it eventually, but its there for now. Im not sure if maybe some of the older firmware had this problem or not, it doesn't bother me enough to look into. -Included 'features' like calculator and 'games' are kind of worthless due to the scroll/touch strip. -Video is not as good as some other players, but if you want to watch a lot of videos you should be looking at the HDD players. Neutral- -The scroll strip is kind of sensitive and it takes a couple days before you get the hang of it and stop doing things you don't want it to. But once you get the feel for it down its no problem. -Battery is decent, i don't watch a lot of videos, but for music i listen to it maybe 8-10 hours a day and the indicator never goes below half. -As always, included ear buds are no good. Get some portapros or PX100s. -The text reading capabilities is restricted to regular old .txt files. Its great for what it is. I give it a 5/5 from the perspective of a little flash memory music player. If the 'other stuff' is very important to you then you may want to go elsewhere.Great Player!!!
I got my Meizu 8g player about 3 weeks ago. I love it! I like that it's drag and drop so even my technophobe friend can do it. It's easy to navigate the player to find what you want. It has extra things like the calandar and calcualtor that I will never use, although some people might like it. It took a while to find the right settings for the EQ. I got on line and copied what some other users had done. Now it sounds great on headphones and in the car. The written directions are pretty bad. The company didn't have the right people edit it but you can understand the point they are trying to make. I was using a Rio before this with very little memory so to compare the two woundn't be fare. The Meizu is way better. I haven't used the video yet but the preview that was pre loaded was pretty good. If you like bass this is the player for you. If you want to you can blow you ear drums out. For the money, ease of use, sound quality and the memory I don't think there is anything out there that can compair.Good video and sound, bad picture response time.
The quality of this player is second only to the iPod. The sound quality and picture quality are good to excellent depending on the quality of your sound and pics from the begining. Pictures are another story. On my wifes iPod pictures come up almost instantly, with the Meizu player pictures take a long time to pull up and this is a major drawback. I hope they develop a firmware update that will correct this issue. This is why I give it 4 stars only. As for the capacity I have more that 500 songs on mine with about 12 videos and tons of pictures and I still have another 4 Gigs to go! The built-in radio is a nice touch too.Keyword : meizu
